Meet Your 2019 Interns: Shannon

Shannon Hartle grew up in Urbandale, Iowa and trained at Capital City Dance Center. Shannon graduated her senior year of high school early to move to New York City and become a Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Trainee. She was lucky enough to learn from incredible NYC teachers and choreographers and performed three times with the school. Shannon graduates in May from the University of Iowa with a BFA in Dance, a minor in Communication Studies and a certificate in Entrepreneurship in Performing Arts. She has participated in numerous University shows and several local Iowa City arts events. Shannon has a love of teaching and has been very involved with studying ballet pedagogy and teaching for the University of Iowa Youth Ballet. Shannon has also produced an interdisciplinary arts event on her own, worked on the Iowa Dance Festival's artistic team, managed social media for the Iowa International ScreenDance Festival and was the administrative assistant for the Hollins University MFA Dance program. Shannon hopes that the future brings her many more opportunities to share her love of the arts.
